Chamber Committees

Each year many of the Chamber of Commerce 600 plus members participate in the eight active committees of the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the committees listed here the chamber of commerce coordinates task forces that meet on an as needed basis throughout the year to focus on issues of importance to the Cody business community. Each committee and task force has its own unique set of goals and objectives and there is a committee to fit every volunteer! With an active and energetic group of volunteers the Chamber can accomplish collectively what no one member can do individually.

Ambassadors
Cody Country Ambassadors Ribbon Cutting The Cody Country Ambassadors function as good will representatives for the Chamber of Commerce at a variety of community functions. Each year the group coordinates and attends new business ribbon cuttings, open houses, and grand openings. Ambassadors also provide volunteer man power hours for convention and meeting registrations, sporting event staffing, and Chamber of Commerce events including the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale.

This is the group that is "in the know" and on the streets as active participants in the Cody community.

Cody Marketing Council
The Cody Marketing Council is composed of dynamic, business-minded, energetic, creative individuals who want to help showcase Cody in the shoulder seasons and support events that bring new visitors to Cody or lengthen stay. The Council continually modifies and improves its advertising campaigns, evaluates, refines and supports special events and collects anecdotal evidence of the effectiveness of its regional marketing approach.

Government Affairs/National Parks Committee
This dedicated group of volunteers acts as the champion for small business in the political arena. Each year the committee sets the Chamber of Commerce Business Agenda then meets with state and national representatives to present the Agenda and issues important to Cody's businesses. Lobbying for positive legislation, writing position papers, and staying in touch with issues, policies, and legislation affecting business are all part of what this committee does for the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce.  Including; exploring and developing areas of agreement and identifying projects that will benefit both the National Parks and the gateway communities through regular dialogue, continued education and improved cooperation and trust is the goal of this Chamber of Commerce Committee. The committee meets as needed each year to discuss issues, and annually hosts Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park dignitaries at the Chamber of Commerce National Parks Day.
