Round Town Events & Schedule

Become part of a Rendezvous Royale; A Celebration of the Arts in Cody, by participating in an art-related event at your business and be listed as a “Round Town Event” in our official events schedule.

Rendezvous Royale is a week-long event held in late September each year and includes; The Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, The Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s Patrons Ball, and By Western Hands. This exciting week draws in hundreds of affluent visitors to Cody. The Round Town Events promote Cody businesses and help keep guests in town for a longer visit by broadening and enhancing the week’s schedule.

As a Round Town Event participant, you are responsible for creating, planning, and executing your own art-related event for inclusion in the Rendezvous Royale schedule and newspaper insert, which is listed on the website and handed out to the events’ patrons. If you are a Cody Country Chamber of Commerce Member, your listing is a discounted fee of $25.00. If you are not a current member of the Chamber, there is a listing fee of $50.00. Your business benefits through promotional exposure and inclusion in this exciting week! This year, we are providing shuttle transportation to our patrons between the Center of the West and By Western Hands to further incentivize guests to explore Cody’s downtown area. We believe this will increase the popularity of Round Town Events, local shopping and dining for those who are out of town guests or simply wish to travel around town safely. The shuttle will run on a consecutive loop Thursday through Saturday from 10AM to 5PM.

For your event to qualify, it must follow the following criteria: an innovative creative special event or program which relates to art and/or design, to be held at your business location. This might be an artist reception, book signing, a craftsman talk, entertainment, including refreshments, etc. We require one-time events rather than repeated or on-going programs. “Sales” will not be included. These events must be an appropriate complement to our anchor events, and event approval is at the discretion of the Rendezvous Royale committee.

Round Town Events can take place from Tuesday, September 17th through Sunday, September 22nd and should not be scheduled in direct conflict with existing anchor events.

Immerse yourself in the arts!

The Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale is a one of a kind art sale with a Western theme, offering works relating to the land, people and wildlife of the American West. Artists offer a broad range of stylistic interpretations of the West, in oil painting, watercolor, pastel, sculpture, ceramic and mixed media. All works are original art.

The Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale benefits the prestigious Buffalo Bill Center of the West as well as the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce. The Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale is held in conjunction with the Center’s Patrons Ball Black Tie Gala, and By Western Hands’ Functional Design Exhibition, all of which are part of Cody, Wyoming’s annual “Rendezvous Royale Week.”

The ever increasing success of this project is made possible by dedicated staff at the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, as well as a hard working volunteer committee.

The art exhibition, housed in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s John Bunker Sands Photography Gallery, is free for public viewing each September. Main events include the Friday evening Auction, where guests view the exhibition a final time, then stroll next door to the beautiful party tent adjacent to the museum for food, drinks, live music and a spirited live auction; and the Saturday morning Quick Draw, where guests enjoy breakfast then observe nearly thirty painters and sculptors at work in the Robbie Powwow Garden, often using live models, to complete a piece in one hour.

We invite you to immerse yourself in the arts during this exciting week in Cody, Wyoming!
